Sailing away

The Pleasure Boat

The sun-light falling on her sheet,
It glitters like the drift,
Sparkling, in scorn of summer's heat,
High up some mountain rift.

The winds are fresh-she's driving fast.
Upon the bending tide,
The crinkling sail, and crinkling mast,
Go with her side by side.

A Full Moon Night in Paradise

It was a wonderful full moon night in paradise!

Moon...Moon...Moon...Come to me
Release me...make me free
Absorb me in your luminesence
Sparkling pathway of your fluorosence
Dancing in the sky
Lovers looking at you sigh
Oceans leap and surge
Stars whirl and merge

Cloud Impressions after the Storm

What a big and impressive cloud between my two palms in the yard!

This is the view to the south down in my street....

and this is the view to the north where more of the thunder clouds were forming - and it was raining very hard pretty soon again...

...and then, finally it was over!

Golden reflections in the water.

Yesterday the rain never stopped in paradise - Thunderstorms were rumbling on and off and it seems it will never end to be gray and wet. But to the evening finally it stopped and at sunset time we had these wonderful cloud formations around the house. Aren't they majestic and impressive? I had to take some pictures!

Night on the Bay

I tried to figure it out what this man is thinking just now when the evening comes slowly to the shores:

It's night on the bay
And lights are shinin'
And the sailboats sway
And that cool ocean breeze.
Blowin' down through the keys
I think I'll call it a day
Oh, night on the bay.
Sure feels good to me.

The sound of Silence

Between the momentary crack when the day turns to night if you listen carefully you can hear the sizzle of the sun going into the sea....sssss.....

Stormy Clouds

Stormy clouds were forming yesterday evening at the beach and over the whole island and seconds later made you BIG raindrops running back to your car.

The Schmooze Award Winners

I’m so honored and excited to receive The Power of Schmooze Award a few days ago from Denny at Backwoods Drifter. This is the first time I ever got an award for blogging like this one!

The Schmooze Award is given to bloggers who get involved and make an effort to connect and get to know others in the blogosphere. When you receive this award, you are supposed to choose 5 other people who really help to grow the blogging community.

The prestigious Schmooze award goes to:

http://moretea.wordpress.com to Sanna (Su) She is blogging about a life as a expat in GB. We had some nice conversations (in my native language) about life as an expat in another country.

http://bloggingden.blogspot.com abhatnagar19 is a nice guy who helped me out with answering so many of my questions about blogging and blog sites.

www.gosmelltheflowers.com to Jim and Emma

These two people are in my opinion very nice, very active and always creative bloggers in the blogosphere and keep the “ball rolling” always broadcasting new ideas.

www.15minutedate.com to Cindy – she was the very first person who made a review on BC for my blog and voted me a 10!

www.wordstrumpet.typepad.com to Charlotte R. Dixon. She is a very successful writer. I love her name of writing. Take a look to her blog and you will know what I’m talking about!

It was not easy for me to choose (only) these 5 bloggers out of so many other good blogs out there - you ALL deserve this award!

Cruise Ships in Key West

The "Majesty of the Seas" is leaving Key West - next destination is Cancun, Mexico.
Some days we have up to four of these big cruisers docked in the harbor.
It makes me so many times dreaming about to travel also with these big boats to other nice places in the Carribean Sea.

Key West Cemetary

I think, not all cemeteries gives you that morbid and death feelings as usually they do - for sure not here in Key West.
You can see and enjoy here so many colorful and with fantasy created gravestones. It's a must to visit this place the next time when you are here on "Bone Island".

Palm Trees

Behold the palm tree,
Swinging all her ten branches,
A little bit to the left,
Sometimes to the far right,
Bringing forth her fruits in season.

********

Birds have a refuge,
Their nests are on her branches,
Passersby sit underneath,
For shade and reprieve,
Scorching heat of the summer sun.

Interesting Architecture of Key West

The story of the "Two Sisters Houses" is interesting, because they were built by the father of two sisters who didn't like each other much. Today, the houses are priced in the Millions of Dollars.

The "Artist House" on Eaton Street, built between 1890-98 was formerly the home of Painter Robert Eugene Otto and his wife, Anne, a concert and jazz pianist.

I call it "The Yellow House". It is not really a famous house, just a nice and colorful one with a lovely, lush garden.

The "Boca Casa" shows the typical gingerbread architecture of Key West houses.

The "Southernmost House" is located near the Southernmost Point on the Atlantic side of Duval Street.

Over the Rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow

Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true

Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?
