Playing with colors

Monday mornings are always energetic for me and are giving me a special creative touch - as you can see it in these pictures....LOL...

Playing around with colors is a part in my newest project I'm working on, but this iron fence photo has nothing to do with that project, this was just for fun. :-)

Have a great start in this new week of summer!

Hot Summer Day in Down Town

Summer is the time of all kind of outdoor activities. Some people like to do sport, some people like to be at the beach and this guy here you will see allover town doing his great plain air paintings on canvas. He is a nice and interesting guy, my husband and I had a small talk with him about art, life and his paintings of course.

Beware of the Lions!

Having a look behind the fences sometimes can be very interesting, exciting and also reveling. I love to do that, it gives me an idea about the people who are living behind the fences in all these beautiful, lush gardens - like this one here.
It is pretty, clean and well organized and tasteful named - only one thing: Beware of the Lions!!!!

A day off - involuntary

Come have a cup of coffee with me, let's have a talk!

I had some problems yesterday with blogger and posting. My friends who know that I'm posting every single day, if I can, were probably missing something. If not, it's o.k. too! I can have a day off....right? :-)

$ 4,500 based on sizes. There are also prints available. For more details see our website: www.vanhulstart.com . For special requests please send an email or call: 843-647-0821.

Just a quick HELLO to all of you out there, I'm in a hurry and on my way out to town.

That's why I'm posting only one picture of this simple but beautiful blue flower - who knows the name of it????

Early in the Morning...

Morning has broken

Cat Stevens

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rains new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
Gods recreation of the new day

Charlestons Beautyful Architecture

Why am I not living in these gorgeous houses at South Battery in Charleston?

Well, I guess I have to work much harder from now on to earn the money it needs to pay the mortgage on these beautiful preferred living spaces.....! :-)

My Favorite Color

The Color BLUE

Blue can be the color of the beautiful blue sky
And also, blue can be the color of some beautiful blue eyes
And also, blue can be the color of the ocean where you swim
Blue can be the ink in your pen
Yeah for blue, let's sing it again
Blue can be the color of your Daddy's favorite suit
Yes it can
And also, blue can be the color of some fur that's very cute
Blue, the only color that's spelled B - L - U - E
And also, blue is the color of me!

Tuesday Specials #6 - on Friday

Many people wrote me in their comments that they can see similarity in the houses of Key West with the houses of Charleston - and I think they are right. This picture is my husband David's painting of a house in Key West and one of my favorites!

When Tuesday Specials comes on a Friday....

I had an idea about supporting my husband’s fine art paintings. I am going to call it “The Tuesday Specials” and every Tuesday I will present one painting from his collection of Key West pictures.

The pictures are from original paintings done in Acrylic and/or Oil…and some of them are already in famous collections all over the globe. The originals that are available for purchase range in price from $ 695 to $ 4,500 based on sizes. There are also prints available.

Door & Gates in Charleston #2

This are only some of all the beautiful and remarkable house doors and gates at King Street and Meeting Street in Charleston.

And believe me, there are many, many more streets and I have photographed many, many more doors and gates. I will show them to you in little series like this over the coming days or weeks.

I hope you'll enjoy it like I did. I could fill a book only with this subject. :-)

I'm a Photographer and not a Botanist

I'm a photographer and not a botanist!

I love shapes, the colors and the light in this beautiful flower, but I don't know the name for it.

I'm sure, out there in this world of bloggers is one, or more experts who can tell me the correct name for this colorful plant, yes? I'm looking forward for your answers and comments. Thank you in advance.

Seabreeze on my skin...

Seabreeze

I saw a ship a sailing on the ocean blue
I ran right down to the ocean side in hopes that it was you
So long ago you left me to sail to a foreign land
But when that ship went sailing by my hopes dropped to the sand
Seabreeze ocean wave bring my lover please
Turn her sails toward my heart and bring her back to me

The rising sun reminds me of the day she had to go
She set her sails to the morning tide and filled my heart with woe
She told me when she left me she'd sail to many shores
But her heart her dreams would always be with the one that she loved so
Seabreeze ocean wave...
Bring her back to me bring her back to me

Little Red Bridge...

There is a little red bridge in Magnolia Gardens that leads you from one side of the pond to the other. I enjoyed seeing the reflections in the water, the water was quiet like a mirror

The red bridge was also a living space for a little green gecko, enjoying the warm sunshine on his back

He was so peacefully dreaming in the sun until a photographer came up to him with that unbearable clicking sound which made the gecko disappear behind the red pole for protection - and he never came back again.

This is the beautiful view that the gecko was pondering while taking his sunbath.
