The Carousel on Broadway

I love these nostalgic carousels - it takes you back in time

Pretty angel...

I love the bunny!

Wild, wild horses...

The Myrtle Beach Carousel

In July 2007, the Pavilion Nostalgia Park at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, SC, became the new home of the famous Myrtle Beach Pavilion’s Herschell-Spillman Carousel. Dating back to 1912, the carousel made its debut at The Myrtle Beach Pavilion in 1950. Of the 15 working Herschell-Spillman carousels in the country, the Pavilion Nostalgia Park’s carousel is one of the most elaborate and well-kept machines. The Pavilion Nostalgia Park’s Carousel features an array of animals including hand-painted frogs, lions, ostriches, zebras, giraffes and roosters.

The Pavilion Nostalgia Park’s design recalls the atmosphere of The Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park, which celebrated its farewell season in 2006 after 58 years as a recreation focal point for Myrtle Beach residents and visitors. Landmarks such as the Myrtle Beach Pavilion’s Herschell-Spillman Carousel and the historic hand-carved German Baden Band Organ are featured at The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

Popular rides brought to the Nostalgia Park from the Pavilion include the Tea Cup Ride, Motorcycle Ride, Dune Buggy Ride, Kiddie Pirate Ship, Boat Ride, Caterpillar Ride, adult Pirate Ship, and Wave Swinger. Arcade games will be located within the park and traditional games such as the milk can toss will line the park’s midway.
Favorite carnival foods like funnel cakes and corn dogs will be served. The park will also feature a retail store as well as an on-site museum which will house artifacts from The Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park.

The Pavilion Nostalgia Park is a year-round family attraction located on the east end of Broadway at the Beach, a shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
